'Can't Live Without' Beauty Essentials

22/3/2015

Hello everyone!
Happy Sunday.
Today I'll be sharing with you my absolute, can't live without, beauty essentials.
I thought in this blog post I'd just include drugstore/high street favourites.

Can't live without beauty essentials

Face

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
L'Oreal True Match Concealer
L'Oreal True Match Concealer (4/Beige) £6.99
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder (004/Sandstorm) £3.99
Not the powder I usually use because I couldn't get it in Boots or Superdrug, so I think they must be taking it off the market *sniffles*. I like this one though, it does the job.
Now I had to find a new concealer when my favourite Maybelline one was taken off the market a couple of years ago (I don't get much luck) so I bought a couple of different concealers and didn't like them that much; they were ok but they didn't compare to my Maybelline one! Until I found this one which I love a lot, it's just quite expensive for such a little amount- I feel like I'm always having to buy more.
L'Oreal True Match Concealer

Eyes

Make Up Academy
Maybelline The Colossal Go Extreme Mascara
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
Maybelline
Maybelline The Colossal Go Extreme Mascara
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
MUA 'Undressed' Palette £4
Maybelline EyeStudio Gel Liner (Black) £7.99
Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil (Dark Brown) £2.99
Maybelline The Colossal Go Extreme! Mascara  (Leather Black) £6.99
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara (Very Black) £7.99
A very well loved eyeshadow palette; it gives super colour payoff and they're lovely to blend. Such a good price for such amazing quality.
My holy grail eyeliner (if you read my blog a lot you'll know how often I go on about it!) super easy to use, really long lasting and stays black all day- it doesn't get absorbed like kohl.
Love this eyebrow pencil, super soft so it blends really well and its a great colour match. Nifty little comb/brush on the end too.
My favourite mascaras at the moment. Lash Sensational has a spoon shaped brush so it catches all the little lashes and separates and defines them wonderfully. The Colossal adds loads of volume without being clumpy.
Mascara is my faaaaaave.

Lips

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick (730/Revlon Red) £7.49
Quite possibly my all time favourite red lipstick and that's even compared to my Mac one which I love A LOT. So that's saying something! Cannot beat Revlon for lip products, I've said it time and time again and I still stand by it.

So those are my ride or die beauty products!
What are some of your 'can't live withouts'?

Acrylic Nail Application

8/3/2015

Hello Everyone!
Happy Sunday! Did you know it's also International Women's Day?
Today I thought I'd do a little post showing you how I apply my acrylic nails.
Brace yourselves for some last minute, shocking quality photos...

You'll need:
Picture
- Acrylic Nails (I bought mine from Amazon)
- Nail Glue (Elagant Touch Brush On Nail Glue from Superdrug, £3.09)
- Nail Clippers/Scissors
- A Range of Nail Files (some more coarse than others)
- Nail Varnish of Your Choice
Picture
Picture
In the set of nails I bought, you get 10 individual packets of different sized nails. For my thumbs, I use packet 0, index finger is packet 4, middle finger is packet 3, ring finger is packet 5 and my pinky is packet 8. As the numbers increase, the nail size decreases.
This is just a reference as your fingers will probably require different nail sizes to mine!

I find it helpful to lay the nails out in order so I can just grab them easily, but if you're not a mental person, feel free to not bother.
Picture
I find it easier to paint a lot of glue (And I mean a lot) over my nail, rather than the acrylic nail, and then press and hold in place for ten seconds while the glue adheres. If you prefer to paint the acrylic nail rather than your own, you do that. It's all about preference.
Picture
Once the nail has had time to stick, use the nail clippers or scissors (Bear in mind that acrylic nails are thicker and stronger than just fake nails. I suggest clippers as my nail scissors broke half way through. It wasn't even the blade, it was the handle! You may have seen it on my Instagram) to roughly cut the shape and length you want your nails. You could cut straight across for square nails, I've been really into the rounded almond shape recently.
Picture
Using a coarse nail file, file the nail into shape. Use a finer nail file to really smooth out the nail edge and make it look perfect.
Picture
Do all your nails in the same way and then they'll look a bit like this. Personally I think I did them too short this time around, but that's ok, I've only done them a couple of times. Practice makes perfect!
Picture
Add a lick of paint and you're set! This is two coats of Make Up Academy's 'Amaretto Crush' on top of one coat of Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in 'Almond'.
I love the lighter colours, especially Gelly colours, on acrylic nails. The first time I did them, I painted them with 'Almond' and was obsessed.

Hope that gives you a helpful little insight.

Payday Haul

1/3/2015

Hello everyone! And hello March!
Happy Sunday to you.
The last Friday of every month is the day that I get paid and luckily, this time, I had the day off. A perfect excuse to do some shopping!
So I went shopping with my Mumma and treated her to lunch, it was one of the nicest days I have had in a very long time.
I bought quite a bit so I thought you'd be interested in seeing it!
Picture
In total, I bought:
- 2 tops from New Look
- A handbag from TKMaxx
- A purse from TKMaxx
- A photo frame from TKMaxx
- 2 Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine nail varnishes from Superdrug
- Argan Oil from Superdrug
- Elegant Touch Brush On Nail Glue from Superdrug
Picture
Picture
I bought the Argan Oil (£4.49) because I've heard lots of good things about it and wanted to try it for myself and see what the hype is about.
I'm into acrylic/fake nails at the moment so a constant supply of nail glue is a must! (£3.09)
As a nail varnish junkie and a lover of the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paints, I bought 'Papaya' and 'Fondant'. Perfect colours for spring. (£3.99 each but there's a two for £7 deal on at the moment)
Picture
Picture
As you may know, I'm in the process of updating my bedroom. I have a few photo frames but they're all quite old now, or not what I've chosen or are the wrong colour etc. This one is quite little so it's suitable for  smaller photos or even little Polaroids. It was £12.99.
Picture
The purse was £9.99 and the bag was £24.99
Picture
The purse is a lovely pink colour and has 12 card slots (4 at the front and 8 along the top), 3 zippy pockets, and 3 sections for notes and vouchers so it has lots of space which is fab because I can't stand tiny purses or bags- I have a lot of junk.
Picture
Picture
The bag is a shell/cream colour with black piping and gold zips. It has two zips at the front and one at the back and it comes with an adjustable shoulder strap too which is handy as the little handles are a bit too small to hang the bag from your shoulder.
Inside it has two zippy pockets and two pockets for things like your phone and your keys, the main pocket itself is quite spacious too, again, perfect for all of my junk.
Picture
The blue shirt was £19.99 and the white blouse was £22.99.
Picture
The shirt is navy blue with a white grid, check design. It buttons up and has 3/4 buttoned up sleeves which you can unbutton to make longer.  It's a casual loose fitting style and is longer at the back so it covers your bum nicely, so it'd be perfect to wear with leggings or skinny jeans and boots.
Picture
The blouse is a bit sheer so you'd have to wear a white bra underneath (obviously) or a little camisole.
This top is so delicate, feminine and pretty. It's got lace detailing on the shoulders, round the wrists and round the waist. It has pretty detailing on the chest and down from the shoulders.
It buttons up at the back but you don't need to undo them to put it on, I just slipped it over my head. This would look cute tucked into a skirt or with jeans and heels for evening, or flats or boots for more casual wear.

I had a lovely lunch with my Mumma in a cafe we often go to in our town centre called Cafe Giardino. It's one of our faves as the people are so friendly and the food is delicious!

Well that was a lengthy post!
I think it's nice to treat yourself sometimes, especially if you'd been feeling a bit crumby like I had!
Have you treated yourself to anything recently? Or is there anything I need to get my hands on? Let me know!

Thanks for reading and I'll speak to you soon,
