Current Favourite Nail Varnishes

31/8/2014

Hello everyone!
Today I thought I'd share with you my favourite nail varnishes at the moment, even better they're all very affordable.

This is two coats of the varnish.
Collection 'Work The Colour' in 'In The Pink' (£1.50)
Collection 'Work The Colour'  in 'Blurple' (£1.50)
Barry M Matte Nail Paint in 'Copa Cabana' (£3.99)
Barry M Nail Paint in 'Strawberry Ice Cream' (£2.99)
Barry M Nail Paint in 'Grey' (£2.99)

In The Pink is a typical lipstick pink colour, its lovely, very feminine. Pink is my favourite colour to wear on my nails.
How great is the name Blurple? I'm obsessed with the name and the colour! As the name describes; it is a blueish, purple colour. Perfect for the colder months (I'm so excited for autumn/winter)
Copa Cabana is a matte coral/orange colour, it was perfect in summer and will continue to be throughout autumn.
Strawberry Ice Cream is a classic baby pink colour. It's very sheer so depending on what look you're going for and how opaque you want it you might need more or less coats than I have done.
It's very elegant.
Grey is such an edgy colour and I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I do! I think it'll be perfect for autumn. It can really change the look of an outfit too; adds a bit of edge to a girlier outfit or adds a hint of glamour to a casual outfit.

There's a little insight into the nail colours I have been loving recently.
What colours have you been loving? Let me know!

Can you believe it's the last day of August?! Where has this year gone? On the plus side tomorrow is my blog's first birthday, so check back tomorrow for a post about that :)

Speak to you tomorrow,

H&M 'Smoky Eyeshadows' Palette | Review

24/8/2014

Hello everyone!
Today I thought I'd do a little review of this eyeshadow pallete I bought on a whim, recently.
(Sorry about the weird shadows, it was really sunny when I took the photo!)
Picture

Let's start with the basics; It's from H&M (obviously), it cost £3.99 and they do four different 'Smoky' sets which are very tonal (greys, blues, browns and pinks) and one 'Nudes' set (very neutral colours such as skin tones and taupes)
Picture

As you can see, they are very pigmented!
Pros
- They have good colour pay off, but to get a good pigmentation it's best to apply with your finger tip, rather than a brush
- Last all day
- Don't crease
- Didn't flake/irritate my eyes

Cons
- Could have the issue of staining (the blues in particular stained my hand and finger tips! I haven't used them on my eyes yet)
I really like them and will be using them again! They're perfect for travel too as the palette is small and slim so it'll fit into a make up bag easily. The colours are complimentary so you could create a range of looks within the one palette, which is handy too.

Do you own any of the H&M Eyeshadow Palettes? Let me know what you think of them!

I'll speak to you soon,
It's coming up to my blog's first birthday soon!
I'll be doing a post about that on the actual day :)

My Skincare Routine

10/8/2014

Hello everyone!
Today I thought I'd share with you my skincare routine. Its very simple, I know a lot of people have very in depth routines with about seven different products, which takes them half an hour. I do not. I use about four products at best, and even then that's quite rare. My routine takes about 5-10 minutes, depending on whether I am using my clay mask.
These are the products I use:
Picture
Garnier Cleansing Wipes for Normal to Combination Skin | Garnier Pure Active 3 In 1 | Garnier Pure Active Moisturiser | Freederm Gel
I start by taking my make up off in the evening using the make up wipes, which I know are terrible for your skin, but I always make sure to wash my face with water afterwards to remove the chemicals.
I was enjoying using the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water to wipe off the chemical residue but I'm not sure if that's the reason I've had such a bad break out recently, so I've stopped using it for the time being.

The 3 in 1 is fab as you can use it as a wash, a scrub or a clay mask (hence the 3 uses). Occasionally I'll use the 3 scrub to exfoliate my skin after I've removed my make up, but I prefer to wake up in the morning, wash my face and then use the clay mask. I like to do this once or twice a week. I whack it on, leave it until it's dry and then wash it off. Just make sure you check you've got all of it otherwise your sister will point out a patch you missed on your jaw, several hours later!

After that I use the moisturiser to rehydrate my skin and then I'll use the Freederm Gel on any blemishes I have and voila, I'm done! It's a quick routine, but it is effective.
Clearly I am a fan of the Garnier products (Garnier if you're reading and want to sponsor me, I'm totally up for that!).

I'll probably speak to you mid week with a Nail Art Details post so look out for that! As always I will tweet when I put up a new blog post so make sure you're following me over there (the links to all my social networks are up the top!)

Hello everyone!
I know it's not my usual blog post day, but I feel like once a week isn't enough, and I'd like to blog more so I thought that each time I do a new nail art design, instead of just posting it on my nail art Instagram, I'd post it here too, along with the details of what I used etc! That sentence needed full stops!

- Sinful Colours 'Snow Me White'
- Black and white stripers from Primark
- Dotting tool with a large end and a smaller end
- Sally Hansen 'Double Duty Base & Top Coat'
